Punjab Woman Wins Free Repairs, Rs 25,000 After Truck Failures
Lakhbir Kaur bought a BharatBenz truck in February 2023 to earn money for her family.
The truck kept breaking down, so she had to take it to many workshops and lost money.
She asked a consumer court for help.
The court found the truck had serious problems and told the maker to fix it for free and give her Rs 25,000.
The court also gave her money for stress and legal costs.
The maker said the truck was fine, but the court disagreed.
The court gave the truck a 45‑day deadline to be fixed.
Lakhbir Kaur bought a BharatBenz truck in February 2023 to support her family’s livelihood.
The truck repeatedly broke down, causing a loss of about Rs 60,000 and preventing her from earning income.
The Gurdaspur District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission ordered free repairs and Rs 25,000 compensation.
An independent inspection found radiator blockage, engine overheating, and AdBlue system faults, confirming repeated repair failures.
The decision also awarded Rs 15,000 for mental harassment and Rs 10,000 for litigation expenses.
