Goda Devi’s Sacred Garlands Arrive at Tirumala for Garuda Seva
Two special flower garlands from Srivilliputhur reached Tirumala.
They will decorate Sri Malayappa Swamy during Garuda Vahana Seva.
Priests performed special prayers for the garlands at Pedda Jeeyar Mutt.
The garlands were then carried in a procession through the temple streets.
Two families have traditionally made these garlands.
The tradition is connected with Goda Devi, who was known for her devotion.
Devotees believe Sri Ranganatha accepted garlands after Goda Devi wore them first.
Nine ceremonial umbrellas also arrived from Chennai.
The umbrellas have been presented during Brahmotsavams for 22 consecutive years.

The Andal Mala and Shikhamani Mala were taken to Pedda Jeeyar Mutt for special pujas.
The garlands were carried through Tirumala’s four mada streets in a ceremonial procession.
Two florist families from Srivilliputhur have prepared the garlands for generations.
The Chennai-based Hindu Dharmartha Samiti also brought nine ceremonial umbrellas for the festival.
