El Salvador opposition nominates candidates for 2027 election
In El Salvador, the opposition parties have chosen two people to run against the current president, Nayib Bukele, in the next election.
One party, called ARENA, picked a former lawmaker and doctor named Maytee Iraheta.
The other party, called FMLN, chose a union leader named Rafael Aguirre.
Both parties want to give voters different choices for the 2027 election.
