A weak weather system near coastal Tamil Nadu may bring some rain.

The Western Ghat districts could get moderate showers from Thursday.

Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds may happen during the rain.

Chennai could also get short periods of rain on Thursday evening or night.

After that, rain is expected to become lighter and more scattered.

Most other parts of Tamil Nadu should stay dry, although a few local showers are possible.

The weather department does not expect widespread or extremely heavy rain.

Devala and Yercaud received the highest reported rainfall, at six centimetres each.
