Nepal Prime Minister Inspects Flood Damage in Nuwakot
Nepal’s Prime Minister Balendra Shah traveled to Bidur to see damage caused by a major flood.
He was accompanied by Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal.
The flood began Wednesday morning in the Bhote Koshi River and affected several districts.
Water and debris hit areas including Timure and Rasuwagadhi before moving toward Nuwakot and Dhading.
At least 165 people have died, while about 1,000 people are still missing.
Four bodies were found near the Trishuli River in Bidur Municipality.
Shah planned to speak with officials and security agencies about rescuing people and helping communities.
The government has declared three districts disaster-hit for three months.
