Karnataka revenue officer arrested for allegedly accepting bribe

Some officers who work for the government are supposed to help people with land papers.

A lady officer named Kavyarani and her helper Shivakumar were in charge of sorting out a land problem in Mysuru.

A doctor named Roopa had bought a big piece of land but could not get the ownership papers changed to her name.

She said the officers asked for money to fix the problem.

The Lokayukta police, who catch dishonest government workers, set up a trick to catch them.

When the officers took the money, the police arrested them right away.

The officers are accused of accepting money to settle the land dispute.
