Hinjawadi Gets ₹426.54-Crore Infrastructure Plan, Work Starts December
Hinjawadi is a busy technology area near Pune that has serious traffic and infrastructure problems.
The Maharashtra government has approved a plan worth ₹426.54 crore to improve it.
Work is expected to begin in December.
The plan includes better roads, drainage, footpaths, streetlights and electricity facilities.
Extra security personnel will help traffic police manage the area.
The government is also considering better waste collection and computer-assisted traffic control.
A much larger ₹1,400-crore improvement plan has been approved for nearby Chakan.
Chakan’s plan includes road repairs, drainage, buses, traffic equipment and a new power substation.
Maharashtra approved in principle a ₹426.54-crore infrastructure plan for Hinjawadi, with work scheduled to begin in December.
The Hinjawadi plan targets traffic congestion, roads, drainage, electricity, waste management and last-mile connectivity.
More than five lakh people commute to Hinjawadi daily, while six major roads and about 60 km of drainage, footpaths and streetlights are planned.
Chakan received in-principle approval for a ₹1,400-crore plan covering roads, drainage, traffic systems, public transport and civic amenities.
Chakan projects include upgrading 75 km of roads, adding about 500 buses, building a 100 MVA substation and completing drainage works by June 2027.
