Future City Police to be Smart, Safe and Secure: Joshi
India's Independence Day is a special day when the country remembers becoming free.
The police in a new area called Future City, near Hyderabad, celebrated it too.
The head of the Future City Police, Dr. Tarun Joshi, raised the Indian flag at their headquarters in Ibrahimpatnam.
He told the police that freedom is not just something we received from our freedom fighters.
Freedom is a responsibility that every generation must protect, and police help people feel free by making sure they can live without fear.
He wants Future City Police to be smart, safe, and secure.
Smart means using technology and intelligence well.
Safe means taking care of every citizen, especially women, children, and the vulnerable.
Secure means stopping regular crime and new digital-age threats.
He also said that technology is a helpful tool, but police officers are still the heart of policing, and the police should be kind and humane.
The newly formed Future City Police Commissionerate held Independence Day celebrations at its headquarters in Ibrahimpatnam, Hyderabad.
Future City Police Commissioner Dr. Tarun Joshi hoisted the national flag in the presence of senior police officials and personnel.
Joshi said freedom is a responsibility every generation must protect, and a citizen's most fundamental freedom is the freedom to live without fear.
He outlined a vision for Future City Police built on three pillars: smart (effective use of technology and intelligence), safe (protection for women, children and the vulnerable) and secure (against conventional and digital-age crime).
Joshi said technology is a force multiplier, but the heart of policing remains the police officer who stands before citizens.
