Assam verifies flood relief funds collected by 72 YouTubers

Some people who make videos on the internet, called YouTubers, collected money to help people affected by big floods in Assam.

The leader of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, wants to make sure that money actually reached the people who needed it.

He said the government will check how the money was used.

He also said some YouTubers did a great job helping, so the government will thank and honor them.

The floods were very serious and more than 100 people lost their lives.

The state says it may need around 1,000 crore rupees to help people rebuild their homes.

A group from a political party met the governor to ask for more help.

They want the floods to be treated as a national problem.

They also want experts to make a plan to control the rivers and protect homes in the future.
