BRICS Summit 2026: Modi, Putin Talks; Xi Confirms India Visit
India is hosting an important BRICS meeting on September 12 and 13, 2026.
Leaders from several countries will gather in Delhi.
Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in India before the meeting.
He will speak with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi about trade, defence, energy and other cooperation.
Russia and India may also discuss missiles, fighter jets and air-defence equipment.
China confirmed that President Xi Jinping will come to India for the summit.
Xi is expected to meet Modi as well.
Other leaders, including Iran’s president and South Africa’s president, are also expected to attend.
Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in India on Friday for the BRICS Summit 2026 and is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi and Putin are expected to discuss trade, defence, investment, pharmaceuticals and energy cooperation.
The Kremlin said the countries are exploring BrahMos missile upgrades, while Russia remains committed to S-400 deliveries and discussions on Su-57 fighter jets.
China confirmed that President Xi Jinping will visit India for the September 12–13 summit, his first visit in seven years.
The summit will be held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, with leaders from several BRICS and partner countries attending.
