Jaishankar meets German MP Hardt, discusses West Asia, Ukraine ties
An important leader from India, Mr. Jaishankar, met with a leader from Germany, Mr. Hardt, in New Delhi.
Germany's new ambassador to India, Mr. Wieck, was also at the meeting.
They talked about big events happening in West Asia and Ukraine, and about how India and Germany can be good partners.
India and Germany have been friends for 75 years now.
India was one of the first countries to become friends with Germany after World War II, back in 1951.
The new German ambassador said that coming to India feels like coming home.
He first visited India 35 years ago when he was still a student.
He wants to act like a matchmaker who helps India and Germany become even better friends.
More people from India are living in Germany, and more German companies are investing in India.
Germany also has four consulates across India to help with this friendship.
