Government Reports ₹36,754 Crore Disbursed Under PLI Schemes
India started PLI schemes in 2020 to encourage companies to make more products domestically.

The government also created an online system to make it easier for companies to invite foreign production experts to India.
The government has disbursed ₹36,754 crore to companies under PLI schemes since their launch in 2020, including ₹1,400 crore through June 30, 2026.
The schemes cover 14 sectors and have an approved outlay of ₹1.91 lakh crore to boost manufacturing, investment, exports and employment.
Large-scale electronics manufacturing received the most incentives at ₹19,090.98 crore, followed by pharmaceuticals at ₹6,662 crore.
As of June 30, 2026, the schemes had generated ₹2.58 lakh crore in investment, ₹23.79 lakh crore in production or sales, ₹15.53 lakh crore in exports and over 14.57 lakh jobs.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade also launched an online module for digitally signed sponsorship letters for foreign production professionals.
