Amazon Launches Prime Air Drone Deliveries in Darlington, UK

Amazon has started using drones to deliver packages in Darlington, a town in England.

The drones fly from Amazon's big warehouse to people's homes.

People who live within about 7.5 miles of the warehouse can get small packages in less than an hour.

The packages can weigh up to about 2.2 kilograms, which is like a small bag of shopping.

The drone lowers the package into a garden, yard, or driveway instead of leaving it at the front door.

Not everyone can get drone deliveries because the drone needs a safe place to land without trees or other obstacles in the way.

Amazon tested the drone a lot before starting, with more than 5,100 test flights.

The drone can fly in light rain and cold weather, but bad weather can still stop deliveries.

Amazon hopes to bring drone deliveries to more places in the UK in the future.
