Two Murder Case Accused Injured In Separate Assam Police Firings
A former Central Reserve Police Force member named Biman Barua was killed in Assam.
Police arrested five people in connection with the case.
Two of the arrested men were later injured when police opened fire.
Police said the first man tried to take an officer’s gun and run away.
They said the second man attacked an officer during a search for the alleged murder weapon.
Both men were shot in the right leg.
They were taken to hospitals for treatment.
The court sent the accused into police custody while the investigation continues.
Former Central Reserve Police Force personnel Biman Barua was allegedly stabbed by five people in Assam’s Sivasagar district on September 18.
Police arrested alleged prime accused Vicky Singh in Nagaland and four other suspects by the following day.
Singh was shot in the right leg after police said he tried to seize an officer’s weapon and escape.
Another accused, Md Rubul Khan, was shot after police said he attacked an officer with a sharp-edged object during a weapon-recovery operation.
Both men were hospitalized, while the murder investigation and preparation of a detailed chargesheet are continuing.
