Susmita Mukherjee is a famous Indian actress who has worked in movies, television, and theatre for over four decades.

She said she had to take up 'C-Grade films' - movies she did not like - just to pay back that money.

She studied at the National School of Drama, one of India's top acting schools, in 1983.

She became a star by playing Kitty, a funny assistant, in the TV detective show Karamchand.

Many people remember her as Mangala Dadi, the funny blind grandmother in the comedy film Golmaal.

She also made audiences laugh in the movie Dostana as a glamorous aunt.
