BJP names Tarun Chugh Gujarat in-charge, Patel Uttar Pradesh co-in-charge

A big political party in India called the BJP has given two people new jobs.

The party leader gave Tarun Chugh the job of managing the party in the state of Gujarat.

Chugh replaced Bhupender Yadav, who had been in charge of Gujarat for almost ten years.

The party also gave Jagdish Patel a big job helping to manage the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Patel is a friend of Prime Minister Modi and helped him win votes in the city of Varanasi.

The party is getting ready for elections, where people vote for their leaders.

The next election in Gujarat is in 2027, and a bigger national election follows in 2029.

Many young people will be old enough to vote for the first time by then.

The party did very well in Gujarat in 2022, but lost some support in Uttar Pradesh in 2024.

The new leaders will try to keep the party strong in both states.
