The National Stock Exchange, or NSE, runs a large computer system for buying and selling investments.

On May 7, 2025, nearly 4 million cyberattacks targeted its computers.

The attacks happened while India’s Operation Sindoor was underway.

The attackers reportedly wanted to disturb the exchange’s morning opening session.

The NSE said its cybersecurity team stopped every attack.

The exchange operates its systems around the clock.

It can handle millions of transactions and hundreds of thousands of orders each second.
