BRICS WAVES Bazaar 2026 concludes in Mumbai with co-production deals
The BRICS WAVES Bazaar was a big meeting in Mumbai, India, for people who make movies, TV shows, cartoons and video games.
It lasted two days and ended on a Friday.
Around 900 people from 20 countries came to talk and work together.
They held more than 275 business meetings so people from different countries could become partners.
India and Brazil agreed to work more closely on movies, and Brazil will join next year's WAVES event too.

The two-day BRICS WAVES Bazaar 2026, hosted by India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting through the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), concluded on Friday in Mumbai with representatives from 20 BRICS member and partner countries.
More than 900 industry delegates attended, and over 275 curated business-to-business meetings were facilitated across producers, studios, broadcasters, film commissions, AVGC-XR companies, investors, technology firms and government representatives.
NFDC exchanged a Letter of Intent with Brazil's RioFilme to strengthen audiovisual cooperation and facilitate Brazilian participation at WAVES 2027; NFDC and the National Film Archive of India (NFAI) also announced ongoing archival collaboration with Russia's Gosfilmofond.
New projects unveiled included the India–Portugal feature film Portuguese Man 'O War and the India–Russia co-production KOROVA.
Other announcements included the proposed Global South Film Festival 2027, the launch of the BRICS Independent Producers Alliance (BIPA), an India–Vietnam Record of Meeting on film cooperation, and Calivision AI Studio, a new AI-first content production studio in India.
