Excise Teams Raid Liquor Shops After Illegal Sales Reported At Some Places In Bhopal Despite Dry Day Observed On August 15 · freepressjournal.in

A dry day is a special day when selling alcohol is not allowed.

On August 15, the city of Bhopal had a dry day because it is India's Independence Day.

All 85 liquor shops in the city stayed closed on that Saturday.

Even though the shops were closed, some people still tried to sell liquor.

Excise Department officers heard about this and decided to check.

They made eight teams and sent them to different parts of the city.

The teams secretly checked some shops and recorded videos with their mobile phones.

They raided a shop in Malviya Nagar and took three boxes of liquor.

They also caught a man named Shailesh Singh who was trying to sell liquor.
