Telangana Police Plan Security for Ganesh Festivities and Immersion
Police in Telangana are preparing to keep Ganesh celebrations safe.
The celebrations begin on September 14.
They end on September 25, when idols will be immersed.
Police will collect information about each celebration site, called a pandal.
They will record where the sites are and who is organising them.
Officers will check traffic, electricity safety and the roads used for immersion.
Organisers are being encouraged to use volunteers, cameras and safe queues.
Police will also use special teams and watch social media for possible problems.
The police chief asked different departments and community groups to work together.
DGP C.V. Anand ordered comprehensive security arrangements for Ganesh festivities across the state.
The festivities will run from September 14 through September 25, ending with idol immersion.
A dedicated online portal will track pandal locations, organisers, committee members and immersion vehicles.
Police were told to focus on electrical safety, traffic management, CCTV, queues and coordination with other departments.
Officers will use geo-tagging, police applications, bomb-disposal teams, dog squads and social-media monitoring to support security.
