BSF Seizes Rs 25 Crore Gold Near India-Bangladesh Border
The Border Security Force found a large amount of gold near the India-Bangladesh border.
The gold was packed into 125 biscuits and weighed more than 15.6 kilograms.
Officials said it was worth almost Rs 25 crore.
The seizure happened after security officers received a tip.
A woman was detained or arrested in connection with the suspected smuggling attempt.
She was given to the police, who are trying to learn who else was involved.
The gold was found in the Barnpur area of Nadia.

The BSF seized 125 gold biscuits weighing 15,607.010 grams near Barnpur in Nadia early Sunday.
Officials estimated the gold’s market value at Rs 24,95,56,090, or nearly Rs 25 crore.
The BSF’s 32nd Battalion acted on a tip-off and detained or arrested a woman linked to the suspected smuggling attempt.
The woman was handed over to Krishnaganj police, who are investigating her alleged role and searching for other network members.
In a separate June operation, the BSF and Punjab Police seized 27 kilograms of heroin near Amritsar after suspected drone-based smuggling.
