Zardari Says India Believes in Akhand Bharat; Hindus Prefer Pakistan

The president of Pakistan, Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, made a speech about two countries, India and Pakistan.

He said that the people of India believe in something called 'Akhand Bharat.'

'Akhand Bharat' is an idea about bringing parts of South Asia together under one big country.

Mr. Zardari said Pakistan is a Muslim country and that its people are very tolerant.

He told everyone that about four out of every one hundred people in Pakistan are Hindu.

He said these Hindu people are free, just like people anywhere else.

He also said the Hindus in Pakistan would rather stay there than move to India.

Many people think these words are a provocative, or strong and possibly upsetting, statement.
