Bonalu is a special festival celebrated in Telangana in India.

People celebrate it to honour a Goddess and offer her thanks.

This year, the festival was celebrated at the Telangana State Secretariat, which is the government building in Hyderabad.

The Chief Secretary of Telangana, Sanjay Jaju, joined the celebration.

He said special prayers inside the building at a small temple called Sri Nalla Pochamma temple.

Government workers brought a traditional offering called Bonam to the Goddess.

There were dancers called Pothurajus and drummers wearing colourful clothes.

They all prayed for the health, peace and prosperity of the people of Telangana.

Mr. Jaju hoped that Goddess Mahankali would bless the state with happiness and continued development.

It was a joyful day for everyone who took part.
