Modi to Launch Chennai Metro Stretch and Projects Worth ₹13,000 Crore
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Chennai on Sunday.
He is scheduled to open a new elevated part of the city’s Metro.
The stretch connects Poonamallee Bypass and Vadapalani and has 11 stations.
It is intended to give people another way to travel instead of using roads.
Passenger services are scheduled to start at 4 pm on Sunday.
The visit also includes projects for roads, railways, ports and petroleum.
At IIT Madras, Modi will dedicate a brain research centre and launch a project to map more than 100 human brains.
The announced projects are worth more than ₹13,000 crore.
