Modi Inaugurates Chennai Metro Phase II Stretch

Narendra Modi opened a new part of the Chennai Metro.

It connects Poonamallee and Vadapalani and has 11 elevated stations.

The stretch is about 15 kilometres long and cost around ₹4,900 crore to build.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay joined Modi for the flag-off and Metro ride.

The articles describe the ride slightly differently: one says it went from Porur Bypass to Poonamallee Bypass and back.

The announced programme also covered road, railway and port projects across Tamil Nadu.

Some projects were to be opened, while others were to receive foundation stones.

Modi was also scheduled to dedicate a brain research centre at IIT Madras and launch brain atlas projects.
