Rahul Gandhi's 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' Gets Conditional Clearance in Prayagraj
Rahul Gandhi is an important leader of India's Congress party.
He planned a meeting with students in Prayagraj called 'Chhatron Ki Goonj.'
At first, the trust that owns the venue said he could not use the ground.
The trust said no because of a court order and waterlogging at the ground.
Later, the trust changed its mind and gave permission again.
The police also said yes, but with some rules.
Everyone must keep the noise low, stay peaceful, and not say rude things about any religion, caste, or community.
If anyone breaks the rules, permission will be cancelled.
Gandhi's party said the state government tried to stop the event, but the government said that is not true.
Gandhi is set to arrive on Saturday evening and talk with students from 6 pm to 8:30 pm.
Police granted conditional permission for Rahul Gandhi's 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' student interaction at KP Ground in Prayagraj, and UP Congress chief Ajay Rai said all clearances are now secured.
Conditions include adhering to noise norms, maintaining law and order, deploying volunteers for crowd and traffic management, making parking arrangements, and avoiding provocative remarks against any organization, religion, caste, or community.
The permission would automatically stand cancelled in case of any violation of conditions or disturbance to public order.
The Kayastha Pathshala (KP) Trust restored venue permission on Thursday night, a day after withdrawing it, provided teaching and academic activities at the college are not disrupted and district magistrate approval is obtained.
The trust had revoked permission on Wednesday citing an Allahabad High Court order dated August 14, 2025, restricting use of the KP College ground, and waterlogging following recent rains; Congress accused the UP government of trying to scuttle the event, a charge the BJP government rejected.
