Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that a report about the 2008 killing of a spiritual leader, Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, went missing from the government office.

He thinks this was a planned conspiracy and wants the Crime Branch to find out what happened.

The event was also a book launch about Swami Laxmanananda.

Majhi promised money to protect the leader’s ashram and build a hostel for girls.

He also named a medical college after the leader.

Other speakers praised Swami Laxmanananda for helping tribal girls and fighting bad practices.

The chief minister said the truth will come out soon.
