Dhami Opens Patanjali Ayurveda Gurukulam on Ayurveda Day
Pushkar Singh Dhami opened a new school called Patanjali Ayurveda Gurukulam in Haridwar.
The school will teach Ayurveda along with modern education.
It will also focus on discipline, character and useful life skills.
Eligible students who study Sanskrit may be able to join the BAMS medical programme.
Swami Ramdev said this could help Sanskrit and Vedic scholars become Ayurveda doctors.
Acharya Balkrishna said government-linked institutions would help design the programme.
The Gurukulam is intended to pass traditional Indian knowledge to younger generations.
A state minister also suggested creating wellness centres across Uttarakhand.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Gurukulam in Aurangabad, Haridwar, on World Ayurveda Day.
The institution aims to connect India’s traditional knowledge with modern education, values and practical skills.
Eligible Sanskrit students will have a pathway to pursue the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery programme.
The Central Sanskrit University and National Commission for Indian System of Medicine are expected to support the programme’s development.
Uttarakhand AYUSH Minister Madan Kaushik proposed Patanjali wellness centres in hotels and dharamshalas to promote wellness tourism.
