Chakan industrialists put move-out decision on hold after minister assurance

Some factory owners in a place called Chakan, near Pune in India, were very unhappy.

Their roads were full of potholes and traffic jams, and they did not have enough water or electricity.

Because of these problems, they said they wanted to move their factories to another town.

The government leaders heard about this and quickly called a meeting.

The leaders promised to fix all the problems within ten months.

So the factory owners agreed to wait for ten months before deciding to move.

The government also said a special officer will meet the factory owners every week to listen to their problems.

Some other politicians said the government only acted because the factory owners threatened to leave.

They think the government should have helped much earlier.

For now, the factories will stay in Chakan and see if the government keeps its promise.
