Thoothukudi fishing community demands sea ambulance services to save lives

Fishermen in a place called Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu work on the big ocean.

Sometimes a fisherman gets very sick or hurt while far from land.

There are no hospitals at sea, so the boat has to sail for hours back to the shore.

That long wait can make the sick person worse and sometimes even cause death.

The fishermen are asking for special boats called 'sea ambulances' that carry medical help.

These ambulances could bring doctors and equipment quickly to sick or injured fishermen on the water.

Every day, almost 10,000 fishermen go out to sea in this area.

Accidents, heart problems, and trouble breathing are some of the emergencies they face.

A sea ambulance could bring a sick fisherman to the hospital much faster and save more lives.
