Eighteen-year-old Kunal Murlidhar Chandwade died at Khavdya Hill in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district.
Police said Kunal had survived an alleged suicide attempt at the same location in 2025.
He reportedly stayed near the 400–500-foot cliff edge for several hours despite efforts to move him to safety.
His parents, Murlidhar and Sangeeta Chandwade, also died after attempting to intervene, according to police accounts.
Investigators are examining a dispute over an iPhone instalment payment and whether other factors contributed.
