Thane Marks World Alzheimer’s Day With Awareness Programme
Thane Municipal Corporation held a programme for older people to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s and dementia.
It took place on October 7 at an auditorium in Thane.
A psychiatrist explained dementia and how families and caregivers can help.
People also watched a short film called “Smriti” about the challenges faced by people with Alzheimer’s and their families.
The film made many audience members emotional.
A speaker showed seniors how to use smartphones and other digital tools safely and independently.
The programme also included memory games, and winners received prizes.
The event aimed to support awareness, digital skills and inclusion for older people.
