Alva's Pragati 2026 job fair places over 2,300 candidates
A big job fair called Alva's Pragati 2026 happened in Moodbidri.
It was the 16th time this fair has been organized.
Over the two days, 332 companies came to meet people who were looking for jobs.
More than 15,500 job seekers attended from different parts of the country.
Companies made 2,394 job offers right on the spot.
Nearly 6,000 more people were shortlisted for later interview rounds.
Some companies especially wanted to hire women engineers.
Exicom hired 35 female engineers and hopes that 90% of its workers will be women.
A few candidates were offered jobs in places like the Middle East and Africa.
Some lucky candidates got packages as high as Rs8.36 lakh per year.
Alva's Pragati 2026, the 16th edition of the mega job fair, concluded on Saturday at the Vidyagiri campus in Moodbidri.
A total of 332 companies took part, yielding 2,394 spot job offers from 285 companies and 5,935 shortlisted candidates.
The two-day event drew 15,539 job seekers from across the country, including 2,523 on the second day.
Exicom Tele-Systems recruited 35 female engineers for its Hyderabad unit and aims for 90% female representation in its workforce.
Tata Electronics selected 216 candidates, primarily women, while Codeyoung offered packages of up to Rs8.36 lakh per annum.
