India and Nepal Move to Ease Trade, Customs Barriers
India and Nepal held a meeting about making trade between their countries easier.
The meeting took place in New Delhi over two days.
Officials discussed how products such as food, medicine and farm goods could reach each country more easily.
They also talked about making customs checks faster and more digital.
This included sharing information before goods arrive and checking certificates electronically.
The countries reviewed roads, railways, border posts and other trade infrastructure.

Officials discussed improving market access for agricultural, dairy, food, pharmaceutical, medical-device and AYUSH products.
The countries reviewed customs measures including pre-arrival information exchange, electronic origin certificates and digitalisation.
Rail and road links, freight movement, Integrated Check Posts and land-port infrastructure were also examined.
Both sides aimed to facilitate legitimate trade, address operational bottlenecks and prevent commercial fraud and misuse of trade preferences.
