The officer allegedly said the owner could be arrested if he did not pay.

The money was also allegedly demanded to help the owner and his younger brother in an excise case.

The owner reported the demand to Odisha Vigilance.

Officials arranged a trap late on Saturday night.

They allegedly caught the officer and another man accepting Rs 20,000.

The money was recovered and seized in front of witnesses.

Both accused were arrested and sent to court.
