Adhikari urges responsible government to develop Sri Aurobindo institutions
A big leader in India went to a special old building in Kolkata called Aurobindo Bhavan.
The building honors a famous thinker named Sri Aurobindo.
The leader is Suvendu Adhikari, the Chief Minister of West Bengal.
He said it is the job of a good government to take care of places connected to great thinkers.
He wants young people to learn about Sri Aurobindo and his newspaper, Bande Mataram.
That way, they can feel more proud of their country.
He also promised that the government would help fix any problems with these special places.
He thanked India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, for supporting yoga.
Many countries now celebrate International Yoga Day every year on June 21.
Adhikari said it had been 50 years since a state leader last visited this heritage building.
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said responsible governments must develop institutions linked to great thinkers like Sri Aurobindo.
Speaking at Aurobindo Bhavan in Kolkata, he urged bringing Sri Aurobindo's contributions, including the 'Bande Mataram' newspaper, to students and young people.
He said the government would look into infrastructure shortages at Sri Aurobindo institutions if authorities brought the issues to its notice.
Adhikari noted his visit was the first by a state administrative head to Aurobindo Bhavan in 50 years and regretted that previous chief ministers had not visited.
He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting yoga in keeping with Sri Aurobindo's philosophy, noting International Yoga Day on June 21 is now celebrated widely.
