Some of India's biggest companies are like giant piggy banks whose value can grow or shrink from week to week.

Last week, four of the ten biggest piggy banks grew, adding a huge amount of value all together.

The State Bank of India, one of the country's largest banks, grew the most.

Reliance Industries is still the biggest of them all.

But six other big companies shrank, and together they lost even more value than the winners gained.

Life Insurance Corporation of India and Bajaj Finance shrank the most.

Even so, the stock market, where people buy small pieces of companies, ended the week slightly higher.

During the week, investors were watching a new trading rule, a decision by India's central bank, and some uncertain world events.

In the end, most of these big companies ended the week worth more than before.
