Krishnaiah Seeks Permanent Staff to Improve BC, SC, ST Hostels

Some hostel workers are leaving because their workload is heavy and their salaries are delayed.
This has sometimes caused meals to be served late.
A new menu with several breakfast and meal items has also increased the work in hostel kitchens.
Krishnaiah wants workers to be appointed permanently instead of being outsourced.
He also wants more workers, more hostels and schools, and more seats for students.
He says students need proper food and safe accommodation while studying.
R. Krishnaiah said nearly 10 lakh students face difficult conditions in BC, SC and ST hostels because of severe staff shortages.
He urged authorities to permanently appoint hostel workers instead of relying on outsourcing.
Krishnaiah said heavy workloads and delayed salaries are causing workers to leave, disrupting timely meals.
He called for vacant posts to be filled, workers with four years of service to be regularized, and one contract worker for every 25 students.
He also sought new hostels and schools, more hostel seats, additional staff, and upgraded welfare officer posts.
