Telangana Network Hospitals Seek Role In New Employee Health Policy

The Telangana Network Hospitals Association sought a role in creating and implementing the new Employees Health Scheme.
The association welcomed plans for an Employee Health Care Trust covering government employees, pensioners and dependents.
It said limited hospital consultation, beneficiary coverage and package-rate methods had weakened the earlier scheme.
The association estimated Aarogyasri payment arrears to hospitals at ₹2,000-₹2,500 crore, accumulated over 14-15 months.
It urged scientifically calculated treatment rates that reflect staffing, medicines, equipment, infrastructure and other costs.
