Assam Man Arrested For Threatening Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma
A man in Assam was arrested by police for writing a scary message on the internet.
The message said he would hurt the state's leader, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The message appeared while the leader was giving a speech on Independence Day that was being shown live online.
The man's name is Abdul Mutaleb and he works as a tailor.
Police found him by checking the phone number that was shown with the message.
In the message, he said he would hurt the leader for one crore rupees, which is a very big amount of money, and asked people who wanted to help to call him.
The message also said some words supporting another country called Pakistan.
Police also took three other people to the police station to ask them questions, including the man's father and brother.
Police are still checking the man's social media account to understand why the message was written.
Assam Police arrested Abdul Mutaleb, a tailor, in Morigaon district over a social media comment allegedly threatening to kill Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The threat surfaced during the live broadcast of Sarma's Independence Day address from Khanapara in Guwahati.
The comment allegedly offered to kill the Chief Minister for Rs 1 crore and invited those willing to pay to contact him.
The post also included slogans supporting Pakistan, including 'Pakistan Zindabad', and remarks against India.
Three others, including the accused's father and brother, were also detained overnight for interrogation.
