Tamil Nadu Bans Mobile Phones in Major Temples From September 1

In Tamil Nadu, a place in India, the people who take care of temples are making a new rule.

Starting September 1, nobody can bring their mobile phones into big temples.

They want people to focus on praying and not take pictures or videos of the holy statues.

If you visit, you will leave your phone at a special counter before you go in.

There is a small fee of Rs 5 to keep your phone safe while you pray.

You can pick your phone up again when you leave.

The temple people have 20 days to get these phone counters ready.

They will also put up signs so everyone knows about the rule.

Cameras will watch the phone areas to keep them safe.

Famous people like actors and politicians also have to follow new rules when they visit temples.
