Pakistan raises petrol and diesel prices

The Pakistan government has increased the price of petrol by PKR 6.39 and diesel by PKR 7.83 per litre.

The new prices will be effective from Thursday, July 23.

This decision is part of a new daily pricing mechanism based on international market trends.

The government announced that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) will decide the fuel prices daily.

Previously, public transport fares and freight charges were increased in response to the earlier price hike.

Transport operators have indicated that fares will be adjusted whenever fuel prices change.
