Karnataka High Court Told 2,500 Bengaluru East PGs Illegal

The Greater Bengaluru Authority told the Karnataka High Court that 2,500 of 5,000 inspected PG accommodations in Bengaluru East are operating illegally.
The reported violations include missing proper licences, building plan sanctions, and fire safety clearances.
The GBA is issuing notices to all owners of the identified illegal PG accommodations.
The Authority has filed caveats before the High Court and jurisdictional civil courts.
Inspections covered Whitefield, Mahadevapura, KR Puram, Indiranagar, and CV Raman Nagar, areas with many IT and multinational companies.
