MCD Orders Delhi PG Hostel Inspections After Court Directive
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi will inspect all paying guest hostels in areas it manages.
The Delhi High Court ordered the inspections after a legal case.
Officials will check whether the hostels have the right permissions and approved building plans.
They will count rooms, floors and students living in each place.
They will also check fire-safety documents and structural-stability certificates.
Inspectors will see whether the buildings are being used in ways allowed by Delhi’s planning rules.

The inspections are receiving extra attention after a building collapse in Satya Niketan killed six people.
