Trent Q1 profit jumps 22%, revenue rises 18% year-on-year
Trent is a big clothing store company in India backed by the Tata Group.
It owns store chains called Westside and Zudio.
The company told everyone how much money it made in the first part of the year.
Profits went up by about 22 percent compared with the same time last year.
The money earned from sales also went up by about 18 percent.
Trent keeps growing by opening new stores, adding one Westside store and 22 Zudio stores during the quarter.
One of those new Zudio stores is in a country called the UAE.
Trent now has more than 1,300 big stores in 330 cities.
Those stores cover more than 18 million square feet of shopping space.
The company's leader, Noel Tata, says there is still lots of room to grow because Trent's brands are still a small part of the whole clothes market.
Trent's Q1FY27 consolidated net profit rose 21.98% year-on-year to Rs 518.07 crore; another report put the gain at 20.8% to Rs 519 crore.
Revenue from operations grew 17.84% year-on-year to Rs 5,754.71 crore, below Bloomberg consensus estimates of Rs 5,878 crore.
Trent opened one Westside store and 22 Zudio stores during the quarter, including one in the UAE, and entered nine new cities.
Consolidated EBITDA rose 33.1% year-on-year to Rs 1,129 crore, with margin up 220 basis points to 19.6%.
Chairman Noel N. Tata said Trent's brands still represent a small share of the addressable market, providing significant headroom for growth.
