Air India Express Unveils Textile-Inspired Uniforms Across Its Network
Air India Express has given many of its workers new uniforms.
The uniforms began being used on September 1.
They are worn by cabin crew and several teams working at airports and on flights.
The designs are inspired by traditional crafts from five Indian states.
These include Kanjeevaram, Pattu, Patola, Gamosa and Bagh styles.
The uniforms use the airline’s blue and orange colors.
They include modern clothes such as kurtis, jackets and scarves.
The fabric is meant to be comfortable and strong during long shifts.
The airline says the uniforms create a consistent look for passengers across its network.
Air India Express introduced new uniforms for cabin crew and frontline teams across its global network from September 1.
The uniforms cover cabin crew, airport services, aviation security and flight operations staff; pilots will see only limited changes.
Design elements draw on textile and craft traditions from Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Assam and Madhya Pradesh.
The collection uses an Xpress Blue base with Xpress Orange accents and includes modern kurtis, jackets, scarves and pocket squares.
Female uniforms were designed in-house by Pooja Krishnan, while men’s cabin crew attire was developed with Trent Limited using banana crepe fabric.
