Adani Announces Over Rs 1 Lakh Crore Bengal Investment
Gautam Adani said his group plans to invest more than Rs 1 lakh crore in Bengal by 2035.
The money would support ports, roads, electricity, logistics and digital facilities.
The group also plans a large not-for-profit hospital in Kolkata.
The hospital is expected to have 2,000 beds and a medical college.
Half of the beds would serve economically weaker people covered by health insurance schemes.
Adani said the healthcare project could create more than 10,000 jobs.
He described Bengal as an important link between India's industrial areas, the Northeast and the Bay of Bengal.
He also said the group would support cultural and heritage projects in Kolkata.
