Omar Abdullah Reviews Srinagar Development Projects During Early Tour
Omar Abdullah, the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, visited Srinagar early in the morning.
He wanted to see development work himself instead of relying only on official reports.
He and other officials inspected around 10 to 12 projects across the city.
These included roads, bridges, hospitals, a flyover and restoration work at a historic mosque.
Abdullah said most projects were moving forward well.
He said the government wants to reduce traffic jams, especially in Downtown Srinagar.
He also discussed waterlogging, saying some older colonies were built without proper drainage.
The government is adding pumps during heavy rain and planning longer-term drainage work.
He said road work and water projects that had been delayed were restarting.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inspected about 10 to 12 development projects across Srinagar during an early-morning tour.
The visit covered proposed bridges, road junction improvements, a vehicle underpass, healthcare buildings, a flyover and restoration work at Aali Masjid.
Abdullah said most projects were progressing satisfactorily, though one or two required additional attention.
He identified traffic congestion, Downtown parking and drainage in flood-prone areas as continuing challenges for Srinagar.
The chief minister said road macadamisation had resumed after bitumen supplies restarted, while Jal Jeevan Mission projects would proceed following the Union Cabinet’s reapproval.
