Axis Bank appoints Arvind Subramanian as independent director
Axis Bank has chosen Arvind Subramanian to join its board as an independent director.
He is 53 years old and would serve for four years if shareholders approve the appointment.
His term is expected to last until September 22, 2030.
An independent director is a board member who is not part of the bank’s regular management.
Subramanian has more than 30 years of experience in business strategy and leadership.
He currently leads Iron Mountain India Pvt.
Ltd.
and also works on global strategy.
He previously worked at Boston Consulting Group and led Mahindra Lifespaces Developers Limited.
Axis Bank also said he is not related to any of its other directors.
Axis Bank appointed 53-year-old Arvind Subramanian as an additional independent director for four years, subject to shareholder approval.
His proposed tenure runs until September 22, 2030, and he will not retire by rotation under the Companies Act, 2013.
Subramanian is Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Iron Mountain India Pvt. Ltd., overseeing Indian operations and global strategy and incubation.
He previously spent nearly 15 years at Boston Consulting Group and served as CEO of Mahindra Lifespaces Developers Limited.
Subramanian holds an electrical and electronics engineering degree from IIT Madras and postgraduate management qualifications from IIM Ahmedabad.
