88,000 Ganesh Idols Immersed Across Telangana by Friday
People across Telangana celebrated the Ganesh festival by taking idols in processions for immersion.
About 88,000 registered idols had been immersed by Friday morning.
Officials expected the remaining registered idols to be immersed by Saturday morning.
Hyderabad had more than 25,000 police officers helping manage the crowds and traffic.
Extra teams, cameras, cranes and emergency services were also used.
Some processions were delayed because they began late and many idols arrived at immersion points at once.
Officials reported that 13 people died and 26 were injured during the celebrations.
The police asked organisers to move carefully and cooperate so everyone could return home safely.
About 88,000 of 1.24 lakh registered Ganesh idols had been immersed across Telangana by Friday morning.
Authorities expected the remaining registered idol immersions to be completed by Saturday morning, including in Hyderabad by 10:30 a.m.
More than 25,000 police personnel were deployed in Hyderabad, with additional security and emergency forces supporting the operation.
Thirteen people died and 26 were injured in incidents during the 10-day festivities, according to DGP C.V. Anand.
The DGP said the celebrations were peaceful overall and highlighted Muslim participation in Bhainsa as an example of communal harmony.
